<p>To understand a dream, it’s helpful to keep in mind why and how we dream. When we sleep, the body and perception systems are shut down, but the brain remains active. The brain thinks about what has recently been most active during waking hours—experiences, thoughts and feelings accessed recently whether consciously or not. The brain is still active, so it works on this content, but not in a familiar, rational way. During sleep, this material is not related using input from the external real world, but rather by the brain connections already established in the cortex. So the story connectedness isn’t like everyday experience, but rather a strange, circuitous flow from one image to the next. So dreams aren’t magical messages to guide our life, but dream imagery is taken from everyday experiences, thoughts and feelings that matter most to us during our waking life. So it’s a mistake to apply standard symbol definitions, such as Freudian meanings or standard “dreammoods” symbols. All you need to do is think about what kind of imagery it is and how it relates to your daily life.</p>
<p>The lucid dreams project will be very hard, because it&#8217;s extremely hard to make the happen, and even then they rarely do.</p>
<p>I suggest this project&#8230;establish the connection between recent waking experience and dreams. In other words, have people report significant dreams, along with any intense concerns they may be having related to the dream imagery.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lucid dream tips cannot guarantee your lucidity, but I am confident the tips explained here will work for even the most stubborn dreamers. Those who experience the most ease accessing lucid states have been found to be less stressed, more confident, more joyous and worry less. For most of us, this is not the case. We have busy lives, focus intently on work, worry about our health, family, friends, bills etc. Most of us are not as laid-back as we&#8217;d like to be. At the end of the day, our brains are exhausted and our bodies are typically in an acidic state which is not optimal for lucid dreaming.</p>
<p>Lucid dreaming requires calm focus and an ability to pass through the negative mental constructs we&#8217;ve built during the day. Simple lucid dream tips like writing in your journal daily, constantly repeating &#8220;I am dreaming&#8221; while awake, or trying to recognize &#8220;dream signs&#8221; while dreaming most often are not powerful enough to break the illusory spell. They are wonderful reinforcements, but leave many discouraged as night-after-night they wake up remembering nothing thrilling enough to write home about &#8211; let alone being lucid.</p>
<p>Here are some tips you should practice if you are serious about lucid dreaming.</p>
<p>&#8212;&gt;First, remove any fear you have of lucid dreaming, even if you want to try it. You are all-powerful in a lucid dream and nothing can hurt you. It is a safe place.</p>
<p>&#8212;&gt;Second, relax as often as possible, especially before bed. Do not watch television a few hours before sleeping.</p>
<p>&#8212;&gt;Eat a few almonds or drink a small, warm glass of milk before bed. Avoid large meals. Do not ingest caffeine or chocolate, as this will aggravate your nervous system and keep you in a light-sleep state.</p>
<p>&#8212;&gt;Use a microwaveable heat-pack full of herbs such as lavender and chamomile &amp; lay over your eyes or under your neck. Or sprinkle an essential oil with sandalwood, tangerine, ylang ylang, black pepper, bergamot, juniper, anise, and blue tansy under your pillow. This relaxes your senses and helps you reach a calm, trance-like state.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are familiar with brainwave entrainment, you will know that the normal method is to use binaural beats, but new studies have shown that in fact the use of isochronic tone is more effective for brainwave entrainment.</p>
<p>What is it actually, and how can it be more effective than binaural beats?</p>
<p>While binaural beats use sound with different phase for different ear, isochronic tone is created by evenly space burst of tones. Because of this, entrainment using this tone does not require the use of headphone.</p>
<p>One of the major shortcomings of binaural beats are that they require the use of both ears, and special speakers (headphone) assignment. The requirement to use both ears also limit the use with some methodologies which do specific are stimulus &#8211; not both side of the ears.</p>
<p>Isochronic tone also has its own shortcoming. First, in order for isochronic to retain its full effect, both tones must have the same amplitude. Second, in order for them to produce any significant BWE isochronic tones must be at a suitable volume &#8211; loud enough for the listener to hear a noticeable modulation in the tones.</p>
<p>On higher level, isochronic tone falls under brainwave entrainment (BWE), not cortical evoked response (CER). What is the different between the two, you might ask?</p>
<p>In CER the stimulus is trigger less frequent &#8211; below four hertz (four times per second). At this level the brain response does not fall into synchronization mode. Once the frequency is faster as in isochronic tone, the brain start to follow the stimulus pattern. When this happen, the stimulus is categorized as entrainment.</p>
<p>Its&#8217; counter partner method is photic stimulation &#8211; where light instead of sound is used. In photic stimulation normally a goggle with LEDs is used. The LEDs flashes in specific frequency like strobe lights.</p>
<p>New technologies in brainwave entrainment are trying to maximize the effect by using combination of both sound and sight in form of isochronic tone and photic stimulation together. This method is known as audio-video entrainment (AVE).</p>
<p>One of the earlier study on this tone was done in 1981 by Artura Manns. Before that most of the studies have been on the light stimulus &#8211; the photic stimulation effect. It was used to treat patient with facial pain and jaw tension (TMJ dysfunction) and insomnia problem. As a result it is now common to use BWE to reduce risk of getting TMJ dysfunction during dental procedure.</p>
<p>There are a lot of tools in form of actual hardware and software that can generate some kind of isochronic tones for you. And there are many ready made isochronic tones CD sold on the internet, but you have to be very careful because wrong application can cause seizure to the users.</p>

<p>Meditation is the practice of bypassing the conscious mind in order to connect with the subconscious mind. Some may call it the higher self or soul. In order to achieve the benefits of meditation, you have to know how to meditate effectively. When you learn the correct meditation techniques, you will be able to relax, let go of your stress and worldly worries and get some answers to your most pressing questions.</p>
<p>Meditation is something anyone can master with patience and persistence. In the beginning, the most important challenge you will face is quieting your thoughts. Your conscious mind is so used to being the boss, that it can be hard for it to let someone else take the lead for a while. Many books and many gurus will tell you about various techniques to lose those annoying thoughts that disturb your session. But it is not always easy to be able to let go, to get your mind to stop its endless chatter.</p>
<p>One thing that helps a lot of beginners is trying to focus on something repetitive, like the ticking of the clock. The point is to occupy the conscious mind with something so it won&#8217;t feel free to talk so much. Dr. Brian Weiss says in his writing that you can imagine yourself sitting at the bottom of an ocean and hearing all the calmness and as your mind sends a thought your way, just imagine it floating up to the surface and disappear. This can work if you practice. It can take months of practice, but the rewards are priceless and worth everything you have got.</p>
<p>Something interesting here is that our brain goes through many frequency cycles every day, each frequency producing different effects in the consciousness. However, it can be difficult to stay in that frequency because we are rarely aware of these things going on in our brain. About 170 years ago, it was discovered that sound waves can help. These sound waves are called Binaural Beats, Monaural Beats and Isochronics. These sound waves help us get our brain to the desired frequency where it can meditate effectively. This process is called ‘Brainwave Entrainment(not entertainment)&#8217;.</p>
<p>There is a difference between Binaurals, Monaurals and Isochronics which affects the effectiveness of our meditation. If you are a beginner, you want to start with Binaural beats which send sound waves of different frequency in each ear and the brain actually hears the difference between the two. What I mean by that is, our ear is unable to hear anything under 20 Hz, so if you want your brain to hear something that is 6 Hz, where it will go into an altered consciousness, you need to hear 200 Hz in one ear and 206 Hz in the other. Binaural beats are used by beginners to help them move from the Beta every-day state to the Alpha state where your mind takes on a more powerful role in calculating, higher language function, and higher cognitive understanding. This can take a lot of practice to achieve without the help of sound waves. The next level is the Theta state which is said to be the &#8220;Gateway to Eternal Bliss&#8221;, but you do not need to worry about that in the beginning.</p>
